This is not a written exam or a sketching test. It is a hands-on, practical design aptitude test where you are evaluated on your ability to create a 3D model using limited materials based on a specific scenario.

Most students think they need to make the most complex or beautiful model. They don’t. Simple models with strong concepts and clean execution always score the highest.
1. Concept & Logic

Does your model answer the question? A functional bus stop with a roof and seating beats a highly decorative structure that doesn’t look like a bus stop. Clarity over complexity.

2. Human Scale
n
Is the door taller than the building? Always establish a clear scale. Add a small paper human figure to provide instant, realistic reference.

3. Material Handling
n
Are you just pasting flat paper, or are you rolling it to make pillars and folding it to make walls? Iovative usage shows design thinking.

4. Neatness & Stability

Visible glue marks, uneven cuts, and wobbly structures will destroy your score. A perfectly clean, simple model is better than an ambitious but collapsing one.

- Day 3 Theme Creation: Practice abstract topics like “Celebration,” “Growth,” or “Music.” Focus on translating a feeling into a physical form.
- Day 4 Functional Design: Tackle real-world problems. Design a smart city kiosk, an exhibition stall, or a play area. Focus on logic.
- Day 5 Layout & Space: Practice arranging your models on a base board. Ensure the layout feels balanced and uses the space effectively.
- Day 6 Speed Drill: Start using a strict 2-hour timer. If you run out of time, you need to simplify your ideas.
- Day 7 Write-Up Practice: Draft concise, professional explanations for your previous models. Practice writing clearly within 10-15 minutes.
- Day 8 Mock Test 1: Simulate the real exam. Give yourself a random topic and random materials. Execute the 2-hour plan perfectly.
- Day 9 Weakness Check: Did your model fall? Were there glue marks? Did you panic? Spend this day fixing the exact issue from your mock.
- Day 10 Final Mock: Build confidence with one last timed test. Focus on execution over complexity.
